Emerson's Dunedin Marathon

The 2026 Emerson’s Dunedin Marathon takes place on Sunday 13 September 2026 and includes six event options: a full marathon, half marathon run, half marathon recreational walk, 10km run, 10km recreational walk, and 5km fun run and walk.

Organised by the Caversham Harrier and Athletic Club, the event follows courses around Dunedin Harbour and the peninsula, with the marathon starting at Portobello Recreation Reserve, turning back between Penguin Place and Te Rauone Reserve, and all events finishing down the Ward Street ramp after the railway bridge overlooking Emerson’s Brewery. The programme includes both run and walk options across multiple distances.
